ABOUT ME

COACH IGOR TORVES

I've always been passionate about fitness and body movement. Growing up in Brazil, I played many different sports. I was a competitive soccer player and also trained and competed in Judo for several years.

When I was 19 years old, I joined the Brazilian Marine Corps and was active duty for 10 years. For 2 of those years I was honored to be a military athlete, competing and representing the Marine Corps in  Judo regionals and State championships.

The military kept me active, but there were moments when I was injured and could not exercise or practice sports. Those were dark moments in my life and it made me appreciate training and performance even more.

Over a decade ago, I decided to start Physical Education and Sports School in Rio de Janeiro-Brazil (Estacio de Sa University), and took several courses and certifications.  Now I'm at a place in my life that I want to pay it forward by sharing everything I have learned over the years and helping others in their own fitness endeavors.

Beginning in my mid-20s, I have spent years running, climbing mountains, surfing waves, doing strength and conditioning training, participating in a variety of running events, competing in triathlons (olympic distance and 70.3 IronMan distance), and most importantly, coaching and helping people from all ages and backgrounds achieve their fitness goals.

I am currently a US Army Combat Medic and I continue to train in multiple sports. I'm a runner, amateur triathlete, hybrid athlete and am passionate about fitness and helping others. I strive to live a long and healthy life which I have found through fitness and physical activity.

I look forward to having you on my team!
